MAGNET / WORKING SOFTWARE GUIDESFROM BUYER NEED TO FINISHED FILE.
Plain-English instructions for using the Digital Artifact Workshop and Lead Magnet Quick Kit. The two applications have different jobs and save separate editable projects.
Remember the differenceWorkshop: choose what to create and why it fits the buyer. Quick Kit: create and download the actual visitor-facing resource. Neither application automatically collects emails or publishes the output to a website.
01 / OPERATOR NOTEStart with a real buyer job
Enter a specific buyer and the moment they need help. “Freelancers” is broad; “freelance designers preparing their first client handoff” is usable. The Workshop then evaluates which format may be easiest to deliver for that task.
For example: Do not enter “more followers” as a customer problem. That is your goal, not their job.
02 / OPERATOR NOTEMake the format decision honestly
Digital Artifact Workshop asks what outcome you can help with, the time available and the materials you already have. Its suggestions are deterministic fit hypotheses, not market predictions. Read the reasons and choose deliberately.
For example: Try checklist for a step-by-step task; try worksheet when the buyer must write answers.
03 / OPERATOR NOTETurn a format into an outline
After selecting a format, edit the title, useful promise, key content steps, CTA and distribution idea. Add, move or remove steps until every line has a purpose. The outline stays editable in the Workshop.
For example: A website-readiness self-check might contain: headline, CTA, contact details, mobile usability and page loading.
04 / OPERATOR NOTEDocument the evidence gap
Use the source and test fields to separate known buyer questions from your own assumptions. A polished outline does not prove demand. The Workshop will keep its recommendations clear about what you supplied.
For example: A question heard in five real calls is stronger evidence than a made-up survey statistic.
05 / OPERATOR NOTESave the right files
Workshop project JSON reopens the editable investigation. The HTML field brief and Markdown plan are shareable planning outputs, not an automatically finished lead resource. Save both when you want to revisit a decision.
For example: Rename project files for each customer segment so you do not mix assumptions.
06 / OPERATOR NOTEMove from plan to asset
Lead Magnet Quick Kit creates public assets in the browser with no AI key. Choose checklist, quick guide, action worksheet or readiness self-check, then write the actual useful information.
For example: A checklist titled “First Client Brief” may be exported in minutes if you already know the real steps.
07 / OPERATOR NOTEChoose a format before the design
Changing the format changes how visitors use your resource. Checklist and self-check outputs have real checkboxes, the worksheet includes answer fields, and guide sections are for reading.
For example: A preparation guide can explain steps; a worksheet gives room for the reader to write answers.
08 / OPERATOR NOTEGive the asset its own branding
Choose one of eight curated recipes or adjust the background, accent and ink colours. The finished resource does not inherit Light, Dark or Ghost mode from the member area. Use a logo label and clear typography.
For example: A quiet consultancy can use cream and navy while a youth organisation uses bright blue and yellow.
09 / OPERATOR NOTEEdit every visitor-facing sentence
The resource title, label, introduction, section headings, instructions, CTA label and optional footer are editable in Quick Kit. Delete unused optional fields rather than printing placeholder text.
For example: Remove a CTA entirely if you do not have a real destination to send people to.
10 / OPERATOR NOTEPreview both real screen sizes
Change between mobile and desktop preview, then use “Open full preview” to view the actual generated file in a new tab. Test scrolling, links and checkbox progress. A preview is a draft, so check public text before exporting.
For example: An overly long headline can look fine at desktop width but crowd a 390px viewport.
11 / OPERATOR NOTEUnderstand print and delivery
Export a standalone HTML file for hosting or sharing as a download. Use the browser Print control to save the opened HTML as PDF if you prefer. A file does not automatically send emails, host itself or collect leads.
For example: Link to a real signup or contact provider if lead collection is needed. Ghost does not invent one.
12 / OPERATOR NOTEPut the resource to work
Start with one legitimate placement that reaches the buyer, record what happened in the Observatory and register the public asset in the Territory. Improve clarity before making three more downloads.
For example: Ask one suitable partner whether the checklist would help their audience, and note their actual answer.
A full first project, start to finish
Buyer: A solo consultant struggling to prepare clients for discovery calls. Problem: Prospects arrive without details needed for an useful call. Format: An editable preparation worksheet with short questions. Quick Kit: Brand, title, introduction, five questions, optional link to an actual calendar. Delivery: Download HTML, inspect full preview, publish it where appropriate, and optionally offer the downloadable file from your website. Test: Ask a real client if the questions make the call more useful. Record real feedback and improve.
For a website collecting emails, connect a trusted signup service outside Ghost. A link to a form is not an automatic integration. If a resource has no current CTA, leave that field blank and let Quick Kit omit it entirely.
